27 Units comprising 25,000 s.f. with additional structured parking for 32 cars

This site demanded a careful design response to the historic neighborhood that provides a proper entry gateway to downtown Charlottesville. Working with the owner and the City Board of Architectural Review an architectural language was developed that blended with the neighborhood, provided a high level of detail that works at both the automobile drive-by scale and at that of the pedestrian while holding together as a single project. The challenge was to do so without becoming either incoherently whimsical or boorishly single minded.
